2 Dead, 2 Hurt During Violent Night in Philly

Four shootings took place within the span of an hour and a half in Philadelphia overnight leaving two people -- including a teenage boy -- dead and two others hurt.

Two of the shootings occurred in South Philly, a third occurred in Grays Ferry while the fourth happened in the Germantown neighborhood.

In South Philadelphia, Damien Jones died after being shot twice in the chest while on the 1500 block of South 21st Street just after 10:15 p.m. He was just 16 years old.

A private auto rushed James -- who hailed from the 1400 block of S 31st Street -- to Methodist Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

"Based on witness information we know that our shooter was a male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and camouflage-type shorts," said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small. "He was last seen running south on 21st Street -- the 1500 block -- towards Tasker Street."

Small said real-time crime cameras in the area could help identify James' killer.

During the second South Philly shooting, a man was struck by an unidentified gunman on the 1800 block of Snyder Avenue. The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

In the Grays Ferry section of the city, a man seated in the driver's seat of a Jeep on the 2500 block of Manton Street was found unconscious with multiple gunshot wounds to the head around 11:15 p.m. The unidentified man was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where doctors pronounced him dead.

Finally, a woman was struck by an unidentified gunman on the 100 block of West Abbottsford Avenue in the Germantown section of the city. She was hospitalized in stable condition.

No arrests have been made in any of the shootings and police have not identified any of the victims.
