2 in Taxi Cab Killed in NJ Turnpike Crash

UPDATE: The victims in the crash have been identified as Nobel Prize winner and mathematician John Forbes Nash, Jr. and his wife.

New Jersey State Police say two people in a taxi cab were killed in a crash in the southbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike.

State Police Sgt. First Class Gregory Williams says the accident happened about 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the inner lanes of the highway near Monroe and involved the cab and another vehicle.

Williams says one person in the other vehicle was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.

Police did not identify the victims and were investigating how exactly the accident happened.

Traffic in the area was delayed because of the crash.
