Robbers Attack Pizza Deliveryman with Hammer in Northeast Philadelphia: Police

Two robbers attacked a pizza deliveryman with a hammer in Northeast Philadelphia Wednesday night, according to police.

The deliveryman told police he parked on the 6400 block of Ditman Street to deliver pizza to a home a block away. After delivering the pizza, the deliveryman headed back to his vehicle when two men came up to him from behind and struck him in the head with a hammer, police said. They then stole between $80 and $100 in cash from him before fleeing on foot on Levick Street.

The deliveryman did not lose consciousness during the attack and was able to call police. He also refused medical treatment.
